Come and explore the vibrant culture of Italy through a selection of provocative, enriching and engagingly written non fiction books. We will begin with a discussion of Chiara Mercuri’s Francesco D’Assisi: La storia negata (2016). The book traces the contested legacy of Saint Francis, the patron saint of Italy and a towering figure in the history of Christianity while offering a vivid picture of a place and a moment in time.
