Mandorla Music's fall season begins a very special duo performance by guitarists Sheryl Bailey and Jon Wheatley, who join forces to honor and interpret the music of the late bebop guitar giant Jimmy Raney, and to delve into the work of other swing and bebop composers like Joe Puma, Ted Dunbar, Frank Foster, Frank Wess, and Thelonious Monk.

Sheryl Bailey recently moved from NYC to Boston to serve as Assistant Chair of the guitar department at Berklee. While in Boston, she has performed with George Garzone, Bob Nieske, Allan Chase, Noah Preminger and Jason Palmer. Her organ trio the Sheryl Bailey 3 has released several albums and has performed in China, Canada, Europe and the US. She has also toured and recorded with the Anat Cohen Tentet, Richard Bona, Lea Delaria, and David Krakauer.
Boston guitar veteran Jon Wheatley has recorded with Ruby Braff, Gordon Brisher, Herb Pomeroy, and Daryl Sherman, and has several recordings and guitar instruction and practice books under his own name. He also teaches at Berklee and at UMass Lowell.
