Drew Gilpin Faust, President Emerita of Harvard University, joins us for a special evening reflecting on her memoir, Necessary Trouble: Growing Up at Midcentury. Professor Faust will discuss the formative experiences of her youth during the turbulence of the 1950s and 60s that shaped her as a civil rights activist, historian of the South, and first female president of Harvard University. In conversation with MHS President Catherine Allgor, the two will consider the lessons that history provides for today’s world.
