Chiyo-ni is widely regarded as the most famous, and influential female Japanese haiku master. In this workshop we will learn about Chiyo-ni, her life and times in 18th Century Japan, and consider the influences on her haiku poetry and the elements which make it so vivid and compelling. After reading many of her haiku we will try our hands at writing, using easy prompts that engage with the images of nature so important to Chiyo-ni's haiku. All are welcome. No experience necessary to enjoy this workshop. Instructor: Jeanne Martin
