It’s summertime and the livin’s easy… so are these Indian favorites.
In India, an amazing array of summer recipes utilize leafy green vegetables, fresh mint, mangoes, corn, other south Asian ingredients. Summer recipes are designed to keep you cool while satisfying the craving for spices associated with Indian food. This hands-on class will introduce you to summertime favorites including, Corn Poha (a special sack of pressed rice with fresh corn, chilies, and spices),
Homemade Lemonade with Ginger and Mint, Spinach Pancakes, and Yogurt Rice, a southern regional specialty. Class will end with Mango Kulfi, a blend of mango pulp with ice cream, topped with fresh mango pieces, cardamon and nuts.
As part of Powisset Farm’s Guest Chef Series, Indian Culinary Classcis is taught by Shruti Mehta, who has been teaching Indian cooking to Boston-area Indian food aficionados for over 25 years.
