Boston En Plein Air: Watercolor Landscape Painting *Offsite*

Hopper, Cézanne, Turner, Milford; all artists renowned for their watercolor landscapes. The inherent ability to capture vivid colors and moods all within a small window of time on location is known as plein air painting. In this class we will paint on site at a location in Boston or Cambridge and look at different methods and practices of painting foliage, flora, architecture, and possibly even people. The main focus of this intensive will be understanding, through step-by-step demonstrations, a way of controlling watercolor as a means to achieve the desired effects in painting light, color and shadows. So come paint, be social, and see the world around you with new eyes. Instructor: Russel Whitten
