Founded in 1973, the award-winning Blacksmith House Poetry Series brings established and emerging writers of poetry and fiction to Harvard Square. In person readings will take place at 56 Brattle on Mondays at 8pm. Admission is $3. Please register in advance.
Anna Ross
Anna V. Q. Ross’s most recent book, Flutter, Kick, won the 2020 Benjamin Saltman Poetry Award and is forthcoming from Red Hen Press in November, 2022. Her previous book, If a Storm, won the Robert Dana-Anhinga prize from Anhinga Press, and she is also the author of two poetry chapbooks, Figuring and Hawk Weather (winner of the Jean Pedrick Chapbook Award from the New England Poetry Society). Among her honors are fellowships from the Fulbright Foundation, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and her work appears in Harvard Review, The Kenyon Review, Missouri Review, and The Nation, among other journals. Anna is poetry editor for Salamander Magazine and is a Lecturer in Poetry at Tufts University. She also teaches at MCI Concord through the Emerson Prison Initiative.
Dewitt Henry
DeWitt Henry’s recent prose collection, Endings & Beginnings: Family Essays (MadHat Press, 2021), was longlisted for the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay, 2022. His first poetry collection, Foundlings, is available from Life Before Man/ Gazebo Books and his second collection, Restless For Words: Poems from Finishing Line Press.
