Haiku: a short nature poem that connects nature and human nature. What better time to learn about and write haiku than Autumn with its falling leaves, changing light and deepening shadows. We will explore the history, form and structure of haiku from the early Japanese Masters to contemporary American writers, and read many haiku, both famous and not so famous. Then, working with images of Autumn, we will try our hands at writing haiku using easy writing prompts. Everyone is invited to this fun supportive course. Each participant will be given a copy of the instructor's latest book of haiku and a small field notebook. Instructor, Jeanne Martin
